Which OS? Windows XP/Vista/7 32/64 bit?

Make sure you see the file extensions. There should be one file named "hosts" (without extension) and maybe one file named "hosts.ics". You have to add the redirect in file "hosts.ics", create it if not existing. And you have to make sure "DNS-Client" service is running.

To check if the redirect is working do a
ping bf2web.gamespy.com
it should resolve to the IP you have entered

Use IP 127.0.0.1 if your gameserver is running on the same physical machine as your webserver where the /ASP dir is hosted. If it's not the same machine use the external IP of the webserver.

ok lol i double checked that i had edited the right 1
but stupid me didnt readwhat you put properly and i added
127.0.0.1 bf2web.gamespy.net instead of com i have edited it correctly and i will test it now and edit this post again

lol the bots are levelling in game just fine without me need and seem to be updating on the leaderboard im not sure but when i had enough points to level i had to go back to the admin panel and validate my rank same for my friends

also i am using bf2cc will this have any adverse effect?

Please check if "DNS-Client" service is running. http://www.simpledns.com/kb.aspx?kbid=1089
You have to enable it.

What is the ping result for "ping bf2web.gamespy.com"?

Play a round and upload the gameserver log again.

The SQL error is still in your logs.
"2010-05-30 00:24:47 -- ERROR: ERROR: You have an error in your SQL syntax;...."
You have to fix it!

why if i have it set to ignore ai players are they showing up in the top 25 (not important)
