Problems with “unlocks”

After transferring BF2 server from v1.21 to v1.4 I have also transferred data
base and web onto another server and upgrade bf2stats from 1.2 to 1.3RC1.
The game displays unlocks of the weapons from official EA ranked servers
Awards, medals and ribbons are still there, but unlocks weapons are pulled
off from EA servers
Majority of players are not able to use BF2Statistics Client when starting
bf2 and the game is crashed, and those who succeeds to start the game in
BFHQ still displays EA ranking

You have you use one of the 3 workarounds to EA's HOSTS file check:
1) HEX edit your bf2.exe file
2) Install a DNS server to "spoof" bf2web.gamespy.com
3) Cache the ip for bf2web in your dns cache then remove the entry fro HOSTS
All of these methods are detailed on the forums here. Personally I find the HEX edit the easist (just look for drivers\etc in bf2.exe, the entry just after this is the key...
)
