BF2Statistics update 1.5.1!

bf2updates.png
BF2Statistics has once again been updated to 1.5.1, and this is what you get:

Changelog:

- Fixes to the Import Logs module.
- Added server viewer so you can view public data about the server such as current map, and who is online, along with their score, kills, deaths etc etc.

The file can be downloaded in the download section.

ok, I have gotten really confused... the VB's wont run.. says permission denied, and some runtime error. Ill be honest.. the readme is not exactly clear enough to understand.

After tag 5. It starts to confuse me.
I have been sitting here for several hours with no idea what its supposed to mean.

Installing the BF2sclone web page to the database is not clear either. It gives you no real directions that anyone can understand but the people that wrote it, lol.

It said to make two shortcuts.. one for each VB, but you only end up using one shortcut at the end? Also doesn't tell you what shortcut your changing to look at the server exe.

If your supposed to use both the VB's to run the exe then is it possible to get the code we have to add to the shortcut for it to actually look at the server exe?
And actually have permission to run it? I cant run a VB file in admin mode it seems.

Also mentioned to edit the str. look up address for both these files to match the value of my web server. Is that the database server or the bf2 server? and what 'value' do I use?

Can the database be on another computer other then the computer running the server?

All these things confuse me and I cannot connect to the server when I start it. In the serverconfig.con files I cannot add an IP or the server refuses to start.

I've tried to connect via network or even directly connected to my computer by ethernet, and cannot connect. I don't see what my problem is.. maybe someone else does.

And if the readme could be wrote out like your explaining this to an 80 year old that would be awesome. Because then anyone with any file experience can be able to achieve this easily with no headaches. I can tell you right now im ready to put my fist though this stupid monitor Im so pissed..
Im ready to delete it all and say fk it but I want this to work more then anything and I cant be the only one having a problem. There has to be someone with the knowledge to straighten out my problems lmao.

Help?

[UPDATE] New Problem.. After spending many hours troubleshooting. I got a new error with the VB scripts. They get a DEBUG ASSERTION FAIL or something like that and give me a path. Tells me something to do with the PythonHost.cpp is wrong. The path is 'C:\dice/Projects\BF2Branches\Patch_1_50\code\BF2\Game\Python\PythonHost.cpp'

Ok, im going to try and help you the best i can

The VB script error you are recieving is probably due to the HOSTS file not being able to open. Windows has alot of crazy security on that file. There is a hosts file included in the "Client" folder, that has all permissions removed, and will let the vb scripts open and write to it. You only need to use the VB script on the Client (bf2) exe, not the server exe. The vbs scripts goes inside your bf2 install path, along with the setACL.exe. Once you have done that, create a shortcut to the bf2 and xpack launcher.vbs files, and launch your game this way.

As for bf2sclone, all you need to do is go "www.yoursite.com/bf2sclone_folder/install.php", You can use any database you wish on any host, but the bf2sclone uses the same database tables as your ASP does.

The serverIP in your serversettings.con file should be your network IP address

TIP: If you have the ASP installed correctly,  try reading the readme on the home page of the ASP, it goes into alittle more detail then the included readme

this is what I did
I skipped the script file altogether and use bf2cc to run the game
the only thing I changed was my host file to point to my server with game and data base on same machine
then I used the included hosts file and pointed it to my server ip all works fine (without the script file)

Hope this helps a litle and good luck

oh crap, Sorry for the late reply!

Ill give this a shot, and reply with results. Thanks for the time you took to read over my last post and reply. Friend of mines been working out max bot per-game/per-team for the game to run smoothly, and have the most bots, but also not switch you teams to the mec side while he wants for me to get the data base working.

Btw, I did replace the host file.. On my laptop and my desktop to see if it would work on either or. And another error I got (not sure if I mentioned it already) was a PythonHosts.cpp file or something.

point the hosts.ics file to 127.0.0.1 if your data base is on the same machine

127.0.0.1 bf2web.gamespy.com
this should cure the problem and give it permissions to everyone

good luck

how would I give permissions needed to let me run the vb
-Got it going, game starts and what not, but the server wont see the database-

UPDATE

When I start the client with the VB files all my stats for my online account are 0 so I guess thats a good start so far. But when I play in the server none of my stats save. All the IP's for the lookup and redirect should be set to the same IP as it says in the dedicated server prompt when I start the server. Even on SimpleDNS the IP is set to the IP you see in the prompt after you start the server. The private stat data base doesn't register the server either. So Im guessing they cant see each other but the IP's are the same. Something wrong here?

Hey guys, Im back!

A friend of mine was able to get it to work over at his place. I am able to connect and receive the medals and stuff too from here. But now the problem is; is that the stats dont save. After the server shuts down or we close it or whatever the stats reset.

Is there a way to fix this?

Make shure that the gameserver hosts file points to the webserver ip adress, where the /ASP folder is.
